Cosmetic dentistry is a broad term that is used to create a beautiful smile. Every face is different with certain characteristics that need proper evaluation to create a smile for that particular face. Cosmetic dentistry can be limited to one tooth or multiple teeth. Cosmetic dentistry or creating a smile is a combination of one or more dental procedures. Sometimes the gingiva, which is considered to be like a frame for the picture, needs to be shaped properly before performing any dental procedure on the teeth. Even in a patient who is missing all teeth the esthetics can also be achieved by making nice dentures for that face. Cosmetic dentistry involves but is not limited to veneers, crowns, bridges, teeth whitening, gingival shaping and a lot more.
